Rather than go over the differences between all of these blackjack variations, we would like to talk about how to use the best strategy on every hand.

Before we do that, we would like to help gamers discover the nuances that are characteristic of every variation we offer.  One way to learn about a new blackjack variation is to play in free-play mode.  We do realize that most online casino gamers want to play our games for real money.  However, in order to give yourself the best chance to win at blackjack, we think that you should use our offer of free play in order to familiarize yourselves with the game.

There are Differences between Online and Land-based Blackjack

The most obvious difference is that no land-based casino can have nine tables for blackjack when slots are needed to generate the revenues land-based casinos need to pay all of their enormous operating costs.

A player walks into a land-based casino and sees one blackjack table.  This table might have a minimum bet of $5.  In some cases, the player wanted to play at a $2 table.  He or she would be out of luck at that land-based casino.

This is not at all the only difference between online and land-based blackjack.

  1. Many land-based casinos pay only 6-5 for a blackjack.
  2. Many players at a blackjack table will not use the best strategy on every hand and will blame their losses on the player who does.

Why Do Some Land-based Casinos Pay Only 6-5 for a Blackjack?

The simple answer is also the obvious one: 6-5 for a blackjack generates revenue for the casino.  Everygame Casino pays 3-2 for a blackjack in all but one game.  This is 21 Face Up.  In this blackjack variation, the gamers see both of the dealer’s cards.

Naturally, this leads to some strange decisions which are entirely correct under the circumstances such as hitting with 18 points when the dealer has 19 points. In order to make the game fairer for the house, the payout for a blackjack is 1-1.

Why Do Some Players Blame the Strategic Player for Their Losses?

Here we finally arrive at the best blackjack strategy so that your return to player rate can be 99.5%.  With just a little extra luck, you will finish a session in the black!

It is obvious that with so many 10-point cards, there is a sizable chance of busting with 12 points.  The non-strategic player always hits with 12 points.  A strategic player looks at the dealer’s card and then decides what to do.

The Dealer’s Card is Equally as Important as the Player’s Cards

So, the first rule of blackjack that a good player accepts deep in his or her mind is that the player goes first and loses immediately if he or she busts.  Everyone knows that the player goes first but only if you let it settle deep within your brain can you get to more subtle and accurate responses to a 12-point hand.

Land-based players who always are trying to get the dealer to bust rather than improving their own hand, will blame the player who tries to improve his or her hand.  A classic example is when a player has 12 points, the dealer shows a 7 to an ace so the player hits.  A ten-point card comes out and the next player, who had a ten-point hand, now is angry that the previous player hit.

His anger grows as he gets a 6 for now a 16-point hand which is the worst hand a player can have.

Every Decision a Strategic Player Makes is Based on the Dealer’s Card along with the Player’s Card

Blackjack strategy charts take the dealer’s card into account.  So, in our classic example above, a player with 12 points has to look at the dealer’s card to decide what to do.

If there are no 10-point cards showing, that means that there are still 16 such cards in the deck.  Since the player sees only three cards, there are 49 cards as yet unaccounted for.  That means that there is only a one in three chance that the player will bust if he or she takes a card.

Now, let’s see what the dealer’s card is.  If he has a 6, there are many cards that can come up that would make the dealer bust.  So, in that situation, the player would stand with 12 points!  The same applies if the dealer has a 5 showing.

Blackjack is a Game of Subtleties

For example, most players will automatically split aces.  However, it might not be the best thing to do if the dealer also has an ace.  A lot of players who have never read strategy will double down with 11 points facing an ace.  Strategists say to always split 8’s.  Splitting 8’s is almost always correct.  But if the dealer has a 9 or better, splitting 8’s might cause you to lose double.

Here is where a very subtle rule in blackjack comes into play.  In a case like this one, it would be better to surrender than to split the 8’s.

Blackjack Complements Games of Chance

Land-based casino players tend to get pigeonholed as games of chance players or games of skill players.  At Everygame Casino and all top-level online casinos, players should be both games of skill players and games of chance players.

One of the great values in online casino gaming is that there are so many games, and gamers have such flexibility, that a gamer can play 60 minutes of blackjack and then chill out by playing some slots, baccarat, Fish Catch or Banana Jones.

Baccarat is a game of chance since the best bet is always on the banker.  Slots are the classic game of chance.  Fish Catch is a combination game of chance and game of skill and as an added benefit, gamers can compete with other players, possibly from around the globe.

Finally, Banana Jones is a pure game of chance but the action is so much fun that players aren’t concerned about the lack of decision-making.  And the whoo hoo whoo hoo that Banana Jones calls out when a player wins, is worth it.  It makes players feel good, have fun, be entertained, and simply enjoy Banana Jones’s whoo hoo moment!
