You are dealt a straight and four to a straight flush. Here the standard strategy is to keep the straight. Most gamers would probably keep the four to a straight flush thinking that they could get the straight flush, they could get a flush, and they could get a straight.
The statistics are very close here but statistically, you are better off keeping the straight!

You get three unsuited high cards. Gamers can see on the strategy chart that if they have three high cards and two are suited, they should keep the suited high cards. But the strategy for three unsuited high cards is to keep only the lower two.
This is confusing because gamers reasonably ask: why the lower two and why keep just two? The strategy calls for keeping the lower two because it gives you a better chance to get a straight. We are told to keep just two unsuited high cards because we hope to get at least a pair and three draws give us a better shot at a winning pair than just two draws.
Statistically, it is better to keep two unsuited high cards instead of keeping just one!

You are dealt a 10 and a high card of the same suit. A lot of gamers would keep just the high card and hope to get a pair. But the statistics of millions of hands analyzed by computers says to keep the suited 10 and high card hand.

You are dealt two suited high cards and three to a straight flush. Obviously, if you discard the low card toward the straight flush, you won’t be able to get the straight flush. But that is the better strategy! Keeping the suited high cards gives you a chance to get a Royal Flush and the odds of that happening are only slightly lower than the odds of getting the straight flush and the payout for the Royal Flush is a lot bigger.
