There are three Caribbean Poker variations: Caribbean Draw, Caribbean Stud, and Caribbean Holdem.
These three Caribbean Poker games share a progressive jackpot. The jackpot does not usually get into the rarified air of seven digits. Still, it is always great to win a jackpot. Gamers can win a portion of the jackpot with a high-level yet lesser hand such as a straight flush, four of a kind, or a full house. The lucky player who gets a Royal Flush wins the entire jackpot.
The one proviso is that the progressive jackpot in Caribbean Poker is a side bet so you have to take the side bet to qualify for the jackpot. Similarly, in progressive jackpot slots, you have to bet the maximum on the winning pay line to be able to win the progressive jackpot.
Know Volatility
Volatility is a way of describing how winnings get distributed in slots. There is no volatility in other casino games such as blackjack, baccarat, keno, video poker, and Banana Jones.
Here there are three levels of volatility: High, medium, and low. Progressive slots generally have high volatility. This means that irrespective of the big progressive jackpot which is actually in a separate category in the game play, the slot as a whole has high volatility.
How Many Gamers Share the Winnings?
Relatively few gamers will share in the return to player rate and the individual wins will be relatively high. A slot with medium volatility has about what one might expect in terms of players sharing the winnings while a slot with low volatility will have relatively many gamers sharing in the winnings with the wins relatively small.
All three categories of slots in terms of volatility might have the same overall return to player rate but the number of gamers who share the wins may vary a lot.
